The Magic In Your Eyes

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

My friend and I were at a shopping mall last night after office. We heard from our officemates that a new cosmetic store offered a big discount as part of the promotion on its opening day.  For a career women like us, one of our fashion aside from clothings are the cosmetics.  We were excited to see the latest products promoted  by the store from different product endorsers.  But after an hour of testing with the different products’ samples, we both ended up buying an eyeliner.

I noticed our differences in the choice of eyeliner. Although I prefer the liquid while she wanted the pencil type.  For her pencil eyeliner is more affordable and easy to apply that the liquid eye-liner.  Of course, it is her opinion.  Because for me, the liquid eyeliner is more comfortable to use.  And its price is not that high as what she thought.   For me applying an eye make-up can enhace the glamour of a woman.  It makes me feel sophisticated and classy.

I remember my mother once said that eyes can express what you feel.  Yes,it is true, and creating a magic to your eyes with the help of eye make-up can make you feel beautiful.

At Ninety-Eight

It was one morning when I happened to visit my one and only aunt on her house.  At that time she was supposed to eat her breakfast so she invited me to join her at the table. My aunt asked me to pass the green bowl.  I handed to her the chipped ceramic bowl dutifully collecting the purple-hulls we were shelling – but not before I ran my fingers through the coolness of the raw peas, feeling them slide through my hands like tiny pebbles in a running creek.

I sighed.  My aunt raised her one eyebrow, and I noticed how her shoulder-lenght hair- still cut a nineteen-sixties pageboy framed her face.  Each strand, it seemed caught it’s own ray of sunlight and spun it into white gold.

My aunt always said age has a way of shaping your feelings and your thoughts and your dreams into tiny, plastic compartments, categorizing each into those worth storing and those worth foregetting over time.  These mindful immortalities, she said, have purpose, picked like strawberries from fields of moments, some green, some ripe velvet maroon, some perfectly red, and I supposed she should know it.  At ninety-eight, she might had her share of tupperware, though many must have melted through the years in the hot Texas sun.

Protecting Your Computer

Now a days technology is on it’s way to become more digital.  Like for example a laptop computer.  You can take your laptop computer everywhere you go.  It is easy to use and easy to store.

Laptop computers have a different size of hard disk, speed and processor.  Some laptop has a built in anti-virus that you can use for three months trial.  But don’t take for granted if the anti-virus reach the expiration date and you did not renew it or replace it an updated one.  Your laptop might be at risk for virus such as worm, trojan and malicious object from the internet.  Do not attempt also to replace it a copy of anti-virus selling in some computer shop.  This kind of anti-virus only loading in your computer, but not protecting your computer.  If you are using a copy of anti-virus, malicious object are easy to penetrate and damage the system of your computer.  That may cause hanging of the program or not responding and totally shutting down the system when the virus is very dangerous.

Don’t save your money for nothing.  Get the original anti-virus for your computer.  The better anti-virus you have, the better performance you get.  Treat your computer like you treat yourself.
